Keith's Original Cider
Cider lovers can rejoice there's a new domestic cider on the market. Alexander Keith's Original Cider is a refreshing choice with clean taste, the flavour of fresh apples and just the right balance of sweet and tart. To enjoy this drink
properly make sure you pour it over ice. The cider is available at LCBO stores across Ontario in 473 mL single-serve cans and 355 mL bottles sold in packs of six.
Coors Light Iced Tea
Just in time for the summer, Coors Light has launched a new drink, sure to become many's summer favourite. Unlike its competitors who paired beer and lime for a new twist on a summer drink, Coors Light took a different approach combining two summer classics: beer and iced tea. The result is a refreshing, sweet drink. Ardent beer lovers may be a bit resistant to the mix, but those willing to experiment may be pleasantly surprised. Available in LCBO and Beer Stores, as well as in bars across the region.
Butler's Bitter
Niagara College Teaching Brewery may be a new program (it just graduated its first class), but that doesn't mean there's no appreciation for history there. The brewery released Butler's Bitter this year. The War of 1812-inspired beer follows a traditional recipe of a light-bodied, smooth drinking, English-style Bitter. The beer is available in the Teaching Brewery's campus store at the college's Niagara-on-the-Lake campus (135 Taylor Rd.) in 1.9 L growler bottles and the smaller 650 mL bottle. The store is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Canadian Club Mixed & Ready
For liquor drinkers, heading to a bring-your-own-drinks party can be a bit of a hassle. You don't just have to worry about picking up your liquor of choice, you also need to remember to pick up the mix. Canadian Club lovers no longer have that concern with the release of the Mixed & Ready line. There are two different flavours, Cola and Ginger, providing a refreshing whisky-infused drink that's portable leaving you ready to mingle.
Palm Bay Tangerine Mist
This new seasonal vodka cooler combines tangerine citrus notes with a crisp, clean finish. Sold at the LCBO in single-serve cans or six-packs, this is just the latest flavour in a line of beverages meant to give you a taste of the tropics. Other flavours include strawberry pineapple, key lime cherry, pineapple mandarin orange and ruby grapefruit sunrise.
The Rosé Violette
Jackson-Triggs Chef Tim Mackiddie adds a twist to the traditional white wine spritzer with a series of herb and flower-infused cocktails. Made with their Proprietors' Selection Pinot Grigio, Vidal, Sauvignon Blanc, and Rosé, the fresh and fruity flavours are a DIY dream and the perfect complement to any party or picnic.
The Rosé Violette
4-6 oz Jackson-Triggs Rosé
2 sliced strawberries
6 lavender leaves
1/2 lime
1 tbsp honey
Muddle strawberries (save one slice for garnish), lime, and lavender leaves in a martini shaker. Add honey and Jackson-Triggs Rosé. Shake and strain liquid into a mason jar or cocktail glass. Garnish with strawberry slice on glass or sprinkle with edible flowers.
